Fossil Diving in North Carolina
This year we plan to dive the Fossil Ledges off the southeast coast of North Carolina. The ledges are known for a very large quantity of whale bones and shark teeth which are found in the area. It’s common to find Megalodon teeth as well as other types of sharks teeth right on the bottom. Divers can also find fossilized whale bones or whale vertebrae when diving this area as well. Depending where you dive depends on how abundant the finds are since many spots have been explored along the edges. Finding teeth years ago often resulted in huge hauls every day, buttoday you have to look more, and will retrieve less. The dives along this are are fantastic regardless of the numbers of specimens you find.
